Welcome to the Spirit Song United Methodist Church website. Our new church is just getting started and we're anxious to meet and make new friends in the North Peoria/Lake Pleasant area. Please register so you can fully participate in all that this website offers.

What is Spirit Song?
We believe that God has given every believer a “spirit song” that is uniquely theirs, a combination of spiritual gifts, a sense of calling, and a vision of who they can be as they grow deeper in their personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. A person’s “spirit song” is that unique expression of the Holy Spirit at work within each of us that draws us to the heart of God and fires our passion to love and serve others. Come and let us help you discover your "spirit song" as you grow deeper in faith.
July 6th Potluck and Program Postponed
Steve and Sue Marshall had a wonderful time on their recent trip to the Eastern Mediterranean. (That's a sweaty Steve posing in front of the library at ancient Ephesus.) We had planned to get together on Sunday, July 6th, for a potluck and hear stories (and see pictures) of their trip. But due to so many being out of town we've decided to postpone the potluck to a later date. We'll let you know when, after we've heard back from you folks. Have a great summer, wherever you are!
Have You Taken Our Worship Survey?
Its quick and easy! You'll find it in the lower right corner of this page. Take a few seconds to check a box and then click Vote. This month we're surveying styles of worship. Do you prefer traditional worship with hymns and historic liturgy? Or perhaps you like contemporary worship with the rock-style band and informal setting. Or maybe you like a little of both. Check your preference and we'll report periodically with the results. (As of July 1st Contemporary worship has maintained a slight lead over Blended.)

We Have Our Own MySpace Page
Speaking of websites, Michelle and Jennifer (ASU students) have put the finishing touches on the Spirit Song MySpace page. It was Michelle's idea to put up a page on MySpace, explaining that almost everybody under the age of 25 has their own MySpace page and if you want to reach that age group, that's the best way to do it. So, go check out our MySpace page at www.myspace.com/spiritsongumc -- and say hello to Michelle.
Harmony Groups on Summer Hiatus
As summer approaches and some of our participants leave for vacation homes, our three Harmony groups have taken some time off and will resume their weekly studies in August. We will still have occasional get-togethers.
