Worship Services

Worship With Us Saturdays at 5:00pm

Spirit Song is temporarily meeting for weekly worship services on Saturday evenings at 5:00pm at Vistancia Elementary School in the master-planned community of Vistancia in north Peoria. Beginning on Sunday, January 4th at 10:00am we will be moving our worship services to Sunday mornings at Vistancia Elementary School. Our last Saturday evening worship service will be on December 27th.

After several weeks of preview services we "officially" launched Spirit Song on Saturday, October 25th. To publicize this event we conducted a mailing campaign of attractive postcards to 5,000 homes in our community with an invitation to join us as we build this new church.

We're excited about offering a unique style of worship that combines the best of traditional and contemporary worship. Think of it as "contemporary worship with a touch of traditional." We offer an excellent music ministry with a great praise band, (choirs for adults and children will begin sometime in the future), and participatory worship that involves all of us in worshiping the God who loves us. Our worship is creative, making use of the arts and modern technology. Read more about our plans for creative worship.

We dress casual for worship (even the pastor wears jeans and sneakers), so feel free to "come as you are." We look forward to seeing you this Saturday!

Worship Themes and Sermon Titles

Saturday, November 22nd at 5:00pm -- "Praying Hands: A Meditation in Art & Music"

As we prepare for Thanksgiving this inspirational message by our "painting pastor" will help us focus on God's blessings in our lives. In this special sermon Steve will create a pastel painting as you are engaged by his words and the music of our talented praise band.

Advent Sermon Series focuses on God's Gifts to Us.

As we enter the season of Advent, this 4-part sermon series will focus on God's gifts to us -- faith, peace, joy and love. Let us prepare our hearts to once again receive God's gift to us in His Son, Jesus Christ.

Saturday, November 29th at 5:00pm -- "God's Gift to You: Faith"

This thing we call faith is not just something we naturally have within us. Faith is not innate. It’s a gift from God. Paul says in Romans 12:3 that we have each been given a measure of faith. It’s a seed, a gift from God but also something we must nurture and grow within ourselves. And faith grows as we learn to trust God, as we grow in our relationship with God, and as we turn over our lives more and more to God’s guidance and will.

Saturday, December 6th at 5:00pm -- "God's Gift to You: Peace"

Peace is not just the absence of strife. Peace cannot be bought and it is not dependent on our outward circumstances. We can experience God's peace, the peace of Christ, no matter the circumstances. And that peace will transform our lives.

Saturday, December 13th at 5:00pm -- "God's Gift to You: Joy"

We always talk about "Christmas Joy" but how many of us really experience it? The joy of Christmas goes beyond giving and receiving gifts. It goes beyond the joy of family gatherings or decorated lawns. In this sermon you'll learn the difference between happiness and joy, and how you can really experience the joy of Christmas.

Saturday, December 20th at 5:00pm -- "God's Gift to You: Love"

We will conclude this Christmas sermon series with a special art sermon "God's Gift of Love." Be inspired by this multi-media message presented in art, music and the spoken word.

Saturday, December m27th at 5:00pm -- "What Did You REALLY Get for Christmas?"

We will have fun sharing the highlights of our Christmas. The children will be invited to bring a favorite Christmas gift for a "Blessing of the Toys."

Spirit Song Grocery Tote Bag a Big Hit!

picture of people holding tote bag

First time guests who attend our worship services will receive a special welcome gift -- a Spirit Song grocery tote bag. It was a big hit at our inaugural service as you can see in the photo. Many churches welcome their guests with a gift -- often a coffee mug or an imprinted pen or pencil. We wanted to offer something unique but also a gift that would be practical and used.

The Spirit Song grocery tote bag also reflects our commitment to helping conserve the environment. We want to reduce the number of plastic bags being introduced into our ecosystems -- a waste that never biodegrades and which is responsible for a great deal of harm to fish and wildlife around the world.

The Spirit Song grocery tote bag is our welcome gift to first-time attenders. Additional tote bags can be purchased by church members for a $2.00 donation (our cost).
