Getting Started with Harmony Groups
Our first Harmony group meeting last night was a real positive as it marked the beginning of our next phase in our church planting efforts. We’ve spent the last six months getting known in the community, gathering people, forming a Launch Team and now have started our small group ministry. This will be our primary ministry until we begin a weekly Sunday worship schedule in September.
I had fun planning for our Harmony group. I dragged my guitar out of mothballs, tuned it up and practiced a couple of easy songs. I decided for this first week of meetings (we have three Harmony groups meeting each week) I would focus on just getting to know each other, talk about the purpose of the groups and spend some time in prayer together.
Everyone who attended last night thought we got off to a great start and we’re all looking forward to next week. These groups are meant to grow, so there’s always room for more!
