It's a Busy Time

I’m busy getting ready for Annual Conference this week and then the following week we’ll be leaving on our cruise. So I’m busy packing, planning reports, and making final arrangements for our vacation. On the church side of things, I’m still looking at all options as to finding a place to begin worship this fall. It appears at this time that none of the schools in the north Peoria area are available for September. We’ve put our name in to be next in line at five different schools (two of which have yet to be built). This is always one of the challenges in starting new churches in newly developing areas – there is always a lack of “public” spaces such as schools. We’re still ahead of the growth and as more schools are built, more options will become available.

One of our sister churches in Sun City has offered the use of their facilities, either a prayer chapel on Sunday mornings or the fellowship hall on Saturday evenings. There are advantages and disadvantages to either of these options which we will explore later. Keep in mind that both the Willowbrook church council and the conference have to both approve this arrangement so it’s not yet something we can definitely plan on, but still it’s a good possibility that can give us some hope of being able to begin a weekly worship schedule. It may be July before we have the final word so until then we’ll just have to be patient.

I’m looking forward to July for a couple of reasons now. First, hopefully a resolution to our search for an initial meeting place for worship. And second, I’m looking forward to our next church potluck which we’ve scheduled for Sunday evening, July 6th (at a place yet to be determined). Sue and I will be back from our cruise and we’ll share pictures and stories of our trip. But most importantly, we can get together again and enjoy that same wonderful fellowship we enjoyed so much at our June potluck.

Blessings,

Steve

    Hi Steve,
Just want to say again....Blessings and faith for your conference.
And for a wonderful vacation cruise.

I think we will be home by the 6th and therefore our home would be available... if no one else offers. I can let you know for sure when we return to LOS ANGELES the 29th for our family reunion that starts on the 30th. So you should have a confirmed date by the 1st of July.

Love and travel prayers for you both.
    Barb
