Creative Worship

We believe that our God is a creative God, and that our worship should also be creative. Our worship will be celebrative, spiritually uplifting, and alive to the presence of the Holy Spirit. We also believe that worship should be meaningful to believers, comprehensible to newcomers, visitor-friendly, and lead people to a transforming experience of God that manifests itself in changed lives.

Our worship will provide opportunities for creative expression through music drama, dance, visual arts, modern multi-media and more. Our worship will also be participatory, as we engage and are engaged by the Holy Spirit and led into an experience of the presence of God.

Our worship will strive to be experiential & inspirational, reverent & relevant, with elements of both the traditional and the contemporary. We will strive to offer contemporary worship with "a touch of the traditional" that connect with worshipers of all ages.

The Visual Arts in Worship

As an artist, Pastor Steve brings an important visual element into worship. He describes his art sermons as "meditations in art and music" as he combines the spoken word with the evocative power of music and visual art. In the course of a 20 minute art sermon Pastor Steve creates a pastel painting that brings to life the Word that is being preached. Carefully chosen music complements the message and stirs the heart to create an emotional response to God's Word.

The video below is a montage of photos showing a pastel painting of Christ the Good Shepherd as it is created during an art sermon. This is just a small sample of Pastor Steve's unique approach to creative worship.
