“I have learned the secret of living in every situation,
whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.”
(Philippians 4:12)
Devotion: Paul has learned that happiness comes from what we
do in service to Christ and not in what we have. He has detached himself from
the non-essentials of life to focus on the eternal. In so doing Paul has found
contentment that comes from knowing the grace and peace of Christ. Be content
with what you have, giving thanks to God for his gracious provision in every
situation.
Prayer: Gracious God, I thank you for all your many blessings. Help me to find peace and contentment in your presence despite my circumstances. Amen.
