Welcome to the Spirit Song United Methodist Church website. Our new church is just getting started and we're anxious to meet and make new friends in the North Peoria/Lake Pleasant area. Please register so you can fully participate in all that this website offers.
Join us for a unique style of participatory worship that combines the best of contemporary and traditional. We've got a great praise band and friendly people who will make you feel like part of the family. We worship Sunday mornings at 10:00am at Vistancia Elementary School. Dress is casual so come as you are!
What is Spirit Song?
We believe that God has given every believer a “spirit song” that is uniquely theirs, a combination of spiritual gifts, a sense of calling, and a vision of who they can be as they grow deeper in their personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. A person’s “spirit song” is that unique expression of the Holy Spirit at work within each of us that draws us to the heart of God and fires our passion to love and serve others. Come and let us help you discover your "spirit song" as you grow deeper in faith.
Our Mission of the Month: Maggie's Place
During the month of March we will lift up the ministries of Maggie's Place. Maggie's Place is a community that provides houses of hospitality for expectant young mothers who are alone or are living on the streets. Their mission is to provide a dignified and welcoming atmosphere which also challenges personal growth and promotes healthy living.
Michael House is one of the communities of Maggie's Place and is located in neighboring Glendale. We will be working with Michael House during the month of March. There are many ways you can support this mission -- either by donating supplies such as food, clothing and household items, or by volunteering your time for a "work Saturday" or by helping cook meals. White Tank Mountain Hike & BBQ -- Saturday, March 13th
Come join us for a morning hike in the beautiful White Tank Mountain Park on Saturday, March 13th. We will meet at Steve & Kathy Harker’s home in Waddell at 9:30am. We will then carpool to the park ($6.00 per car entrance fee) where there are a variety of hiking trails and rest areas. Or you are welcome to hang out at their house. We will return to the cars at 11:30am and drive back to the Harker’s home for a BBQ lunch. Steve & Kathy are providing burgers & hot dogs, so we just need a few people to bring salads, etc. Contact Kathy to find out what she needs. And be sure to sign up so we know how many to plan for. With all the recent rain the wildflowers should be in full bloom and the waterfall should be flowing.
Women's Ministry Schedules Tour of Wesley Center
The women of Spirit Song will carpool as a group to tour the Wesley Community Center in South Phoenix on Thursday morning, March 18th. The tour will begin at 10:30am and it will take about an hour to get there. Please contact Cheryl Reed or Nancy Kanetzky so we can plan on how many are going and arrange carpools. The next meeting after the Wesley tour will be on Monday evening, April 5th, at 6:30pm at Cheryl Reed's home in Trilogy. We will begin a study of the book "Growing Friendships" by Tracy Klehn. Nancy Kanetzky has books available if you need one. The books are $12.00 and are signed by the author. All women of Spirit Song are welcome to come and get involved in some great fellowship and exciting activities.
Interested in Becoming a Member?
We invite you to attend our next New Members Class on Saturday, March 20, 2010. We will meet from 10:00am - Noon at the pastor's home in Surprise. You can pick up a Membership Packet on the Welcome Table on any Sunday morning or you can request one from the church office. New members will be received on Sunday, March 28th during the 10:00am worship service. Contact the pastor for more information.

Check Out Our Pastor's Recent Sermons
We recently added a Sermons page to the church website (under the "Grow Deeper in Faith" menu) where you can find the pastor's most recent sermons including the four sermons from Rev. Marshall's popular sermon series "Navigating the River of Life." We are continuing to investigate the possibility of also providing future sermons in audio and video. Please continue to let us know how we can better serve you through this website ministry.
